About this report
U-Space is a French dual-use space start-up that has quickly drawn attention for its modular nanosatellite platforms. Established by former CNES engineers, the Toulouse-based company aims to provide agile, high-performance small satellites (e.g. its 12U and Free Form buses ) and turnkey mission services from study to orbit.
In 2025 U-Space raised a €24 million Series A round (led by France’s Definvest fund and aerospace VCs ) to scale up production in its new “U-Zine” clean-room facility. The startup has already launched three satellites (one for CNES’s space-surveillance program and its own experimental SOAP satellite) and secured contracts with CNES and Safran .
