The arrival of sixth-generation (6G) wireless systems depends on components capable of sustaining ultra-fast, low-latency communication across the entire planet, including through spaceborne and airborne platforms.

A new dual-band microstrip antenna array designed by Amin Al Ka’bi meets this challenge by combining compact geometry, high efficiency, and dual circular polarization for operation in both the K- and Ka-bands of the millimeter-wave spectrum. The antenna enables two simultaneous communication channels at around 18.6 GHz and 30.8 GHz, suitable for autonomous aerial vehicles (AAVs) and low-Earth-orbit (LEO) satellites.

This analysis answers: What is the central argument of “Compact Dual-Band Antenna for Reliable 6G Communications in Satellites and Autonomous Aerial Vehicles”, and why does it matter for European defence and dual-use markets? What does this mean for European defence funding, procurement and investment decisions? How mature and defensible is the position described in “Compact Dual-Band Antenna for Reliable 6G Communications in Satellites and Autonomous Aerial Vehicles”? Which European actors, programmes and funding instruments are most exposed?
