Founded in 2011, it develops the Miura family of reusable launch vehicles: Miura 1 , a single-stage suborbital rocket for scientific and microgravity experiments, and Miura 5 , a two-stage orbital launcher for small satellites .
In October 2023 PLD Space successfully flew Miura 1 (with full Spanish technology) – Europe’s first entirely private rocket launch – highlighting the company’s role in bolstering European space independence .
