About this report

Dronisos is a Bordeaux-based deep-tech start-up that pioneered large-scale choreographed drone swarms. Originally focused on entertainment (“drone light shows”), it has rapidly leveraged its in-house swarm control software to serve defence needs .

In 2022 Dronisos’ security-focused spin-off Icarus Swarms signed a memorandum of understanding with French defence prime Naval Group on drone swarm applications . This high-profile collaboration – involving simulated attacks by hundreds of autonomous drones – underscores Dronisos’ strategic role in enabling new multi-domain capabilities for France and the EU .
