Objective
Ocean Oasis (Norway) is a start-up focused on offering a clean alternative to current desalination solutions, making freshwater more available in coastal areas without large infrastructure investments. Our wave-powered desalination solution, Desalinator, will mitigate the impact of seawater desalination by reducing CO2 emissions and power consumption to zero. Our units can be installed between 1 and 5 km from shore without requiring any external power supply and safely disposing the brine without affecting the marine ecosystem. Each Desalinator is designed for a lifetime of 25 years, and our business model consists of long-term (>15 years) freshwater supply contracts with our customers, retaining the ownership of the buoys. Our goal is to reach 572 units operating by 2030 with an annual production of 150 million m3 in areas where water is scarce.
