Objective
The NbyN system is based on a novel technology using small stepper motors that drive a spiral cam profile that creates the up & down movement of the needles through a lever arm. Due to the lever arm, the small movement by the motor results in significant needle displacement in order to carry out the knitting task. Unlike the traditional approach where the needles are moved by mechanical means in a predefined route and order, with NbyN the needles are driven by electrical means allowing them to move independently of each other completely. The stepper motor is a device used to convert electrical pulses into mechanical rotational movements and allow an easy and accurate control of position and speed. The NbyN technology allows the machine to be much simpler and smaller while becoming more flexible allowing the creation of innovative and varied clothes. The operation of an NbyN machine remains the same but a lot of components can be eliminated that results in cost saving & more reliable.
