Objective
APOLLO delivers a sovereign European Agentic Physical AI Operating System (OS) designed to bridge the gap between digitalintelligence and physical execution in autonomous scientific discovery. Under current research infrastructures, it takes 10 to 20 yearsfor a new material to advance from discovery to commercialization. While early Materials Acceleration Platforms have targeted simplemolecular systems, APOLLO positions the EU as a global leader in Physical AI by providing a unified infrastructure for complex, realworld industrial orchestration. The platform’s relevance is validated through two high-stakes use cases: (1) Ink Optimization forsustainable energy materials, a critical bottleneck for the rapid scaling of European battery and fuel cell manufacturing, and (2)Precision Encapsulation for high-temperature fabrication, vital for the durability of aerospace and energy components in harshenvironments. APOLLO builds on validated architectures adopting the Vision-Language-Action (VLA) concept, agentic frameworks, and digital twin infrastructure, extending them into a proprietary multi-agentic framework with generative physical AI. This stack enables ademonstrated 10× increase in discovery speed and 80% lower R&D costs by utilizing a proven platform where digital agents trainrobots in high-fidelity virtual environments before deployment. To ensure industrial reliability, APOLLO utilizes a Guardian-Orchestrated Human-in-the-Loop System. This substantiates the accuracy of Human-AI Collaboration while ensuring compliance with principles of Responsible AI, Trustworthiness, and Security. Through Seamless Digital-Physical Integration and Advanced AI-enabled Data Transformation, APOLLO transforms isolated systems into an interconnected network of autonomous digital scientists and a physical AI workforce.
