Objective
Allbionics Fortis: Advancing Affordable Bionic Rehabilitation through Edge-AI and Digital ManufacturingCompany Overview: Allbionics is a woman-led Ukrainian deep-tech SME founded in 2023. The company specializes in developing affordable, high-functionality bionic upper-limb prostheses designed specifically for active users in high-stress environments (e.g., war veterans and civilians in Ukraine) .The Innovation (The ""Fortis"" System): Allbionics disrupts the legacy prosthetics market by combining Embedded Cognitive Intelligence with Industrial Ruggedization at a mid-market price point ($8,500–$15,000 vs. $30,000+ competitors). The solution rests on three technological pillars:Edge-AI Control: Unlike standard ""manual-switching"" devices, the Fortis hand uses Machine Vision and 8-channel EMG sensor fusion running locally on STM32 microcontrollers to predict user intent and automate grip selection .Digital Manufacturing: A fully digital ""Scan-to-Print"" workflow replaces plaster casting, allowing for the rapid production of patented adjustable, breathable sockets using 3D printing, reducing fitting times from weeks to 3-5 days.Ruggedization: The system is engineered for durability using PA12 thermoplastics and a proprietary Hybrid Elbow, targeting IP67-equivalent dust and moisture resistance to support active daily living and physical labor.Project Goal (TRL 4 to TRL 6): Currently at TRL 4 (Lab Validated) with a functional prototype tested by 4 beta users, Allbionics aims to use EIC funding to reach TRL 6 (Clinical Demonstration). Key objectives include finalizing the autonomous AI firmware, certifying the hardware for environmental resistance, and validating a scalable B2B business model by deploying 30-35 pilot units to partner prosthetic centers in Ukraine.""
