Objective
WISE develops a next-generation wireless energy ecosystem that replaces conventional wired and coil-based charging with a solid state, field-free architecture. The system integrates ultra-thin transmitting interface structures, a modular intelligent control platformand fully recyclable energy-storage modules. Unlike existing wireless solutions, WISE delivers highly efficient, contactless powertransfer across non-metallic surfaces without alignment, heating or electromagnetic interference, offering a scalable, low maintenance alternative to disposable batteries and conventional chargers. The project will advance the technology from TRL4 to TRL7 and strengthen its commercial and investment readiness. The work plan covers: (1) development of an integrated transmitting platform and modular motherboard combining WISE interface structures with intelligent control for stable, efficient energy delivery; (2) design and prototyping of a wireless, fully recyclable AA/AAA-format supercapacitor module using a WISE micro-receiver; (3) engineering and demonstration of advanced Li-ion AA/AAA-compatible modules for low- and medium-power devices, followed by system-level validation in relevant environments to confirm TRL7 capability; (4) dissemination, communication and exploitation; and (5) project, risk and data management. The project is led by Quantum Charging, a Ukrainian–German deep-tech company with a capable, experienced team, building on earlier EIC Seeds of Bravery support. EIC funding will enable further technology maturation, validation in operational environments and stronger business and investment readiness. By project end, WISE will be a validated, de-risked and scalable wireless energy solution ready for industrial adoption, reducing dependence on disposable batteries and critical raw materials, enabling maintenance-free operation of distributed devices, and supporting Europe’s and Ukraine’s sustainability, resilience and reconstruction objectives.
