Objective
GreenTec HUB aims to accelerate the reconstruction of Ukraine and support the green transition in Europe by deploying a scalable ecosystem for modular, low-carbon housing. The project combines cross-laminated timber (CLT) Fachwerk modules, a digital design-to-build platform and a franchise model for regional manufacturers.Today, municipalities, developers and donors face a dual challenge: they must deliver large volumes of housing quickly for displaced and vulnerable people, while meeting increasingly strict climate and energy performance requirements. Conventional masonry and concrete construction is often too slow, carbon-intensive and difficult to plan and finance. At the same time, existing modular solutions rarely integrate full BIM workflows, lifecycle carbon analytics or a clear path to replication across regions.GreenTec responds with an integrated product-and-platform solution. The project will develop and validate the EcoDigital CLT building system and the GreenTec HUB SaaS platform up to TRL 7, through a real-life demonstration building and pilot projects in Ukraine. The platform will enable public and private clients to configure housing typologies, plan projects, monitor costs and timelines, and access transparent ESG and lifecycle CO2 data. Local factories will be able to adopt the system through licensing and franchise agreements, supported by training, digital workflows and quality assurance.By the end of the project, GreenTec expects to have a validated technical solution, an investment-ready business model and a first network of partners in Ukraine and the EU. In the medium term, this will contribute to faster and more affordable housing delivery, lower energy bills for residents, new green and digital jobs and a stronger integration of Ukraine into European sustainable construction value chains.
