Objective
Mobility for Ukraine is an innovative rehabilitation system that integrates CT-based biomechanical modelling, personalised load prescription, and real-time gait monitoring into a closed-loop pathway for patients with intra-articular fractures. The project addresses a major clinical challenge: current postoperative weight-bearing instructions are imprecise, leading to functional limitations and increased complication risk. By combining patient-specific Finite Element Analysis (FEA) with continuous load feedback, the system aims to support safer, more consistent rehabilitation and improve healing outcomes. The project will advance the technology from early clinical readiness toward system-level validation in relevant clinical settings. This includes the development of advanced FEA modules for major articular fracture types, a multicentre clinical study evaluating personalised load guidance versus standard rehabilitation practice, and preparation of the technical documentation required for CE marking. The project will also generate health-economic evidence to assess the potential benefits of personalised rehabilitation pathways in European healthcare systems. The innovation has strong potential to enhance recovery quality, reduce the burden of complications, and improve long-term functional outcomes for patients. By enabling remote monitoring and more efficient rehabilitation workflows, the system also supports broader EU priorities related to healthcare resilience, digital transformation, environmentally sustainable care pathways, and expanded access for patients in diverse clinical settings.
