Objective
Quantum Dice is pioneering Q-TASTic, the world’s first probabilistic processor, integrating quantum photonic randomness with stochastic computing to unlock unparalleled efficiency in AI, optimisation, and scientific modelling. Current deterministic computing architectures struggle with probabilistic tasks, relying on pseudorandom number generators (PRNGs) that introduce inefficiencies and energy waste. Q-TASTic overcomes these limitations by leveraging true quantum randomness, enabling faster, more energy-efficient solutions. The project aims to scale up Quantum Dice’s TRL6 prototype to TRL8, developing a fully functional probabilistic computing platform. Key advancements include a universal architecture for stochastic tasks, an optimised compiler, and a scalable cloud-based deployment model. By combining hardware-accelerated randomness generation with a flexible computational framework, Q-TASTic will deliver 10x energy savings and 10x speed improvements over classical approaches. The impact is broad: AI inference, logistics optimisation, climate modelling, drug discovery, and financial risk analysis will all benefit from improved computational efficiency. Q-TASTic aligns with the EU’s Digital Decade Strategy, AI Act, and energy efficiency goals, contributing to Europe’s leadership in high-performance computing. With strong backing from investors, industry leaders, and research institutions, Q-TASTic is set to revolutionise next-generation computing while fostering technological sovereignty and sustainability.
