Objective
SUBLIME Energie is pioneering a one-of-a-kind biogas liquefaction technology that efficiently transports the methane–carbon dioxide mixture. Biogas-derived methane and CO2 can be transported compressed or liquified separately, never together, except with SUBLIME Energie’s technology. Upgrading of liquefied biogas is then done at the hub allowing mutualisation of costly processes of gas separation and conditioning at a dedicated valorisation hub. In this model, farmers retain ownership of their biogas production, while SUBLIME Energie purchases it directly. The liquefaction process is performed on-farm using a mobile cryogenic tank (the subject of the first SUBLIME Energie patent at the inception of the company), which is then collected 1-2 times per week by hub operators. This approach enables the valorisation of biomass from farms that are far from the grid or are too small to make an injection model profitable. It eliminates the need to extend the gas grid, reduces CAPEX for farmers, and ensures that both methane and CO2 are valorised – thereby generating higher revenues for farmers and unlocking a previously untapped biomass resource.
