Objective
Pollinators are vital for global food production, with 85% of cultivated plant species and 40% of human diets depending on them. However, honey bee mortality has reached an alarming rate of 36% annually in Europe, contributing to pollination shortages affecting €22B worth of European crops.Oligofeed, a deep-tech startup spun off from a CNRS research laboratory, develops scientifically validated and health-enhancing micronutrients for animals. Its breakthrough molybdenum-based compound improves pollinator health and significantly reduces bee mortality. This patented solution is the result of 10 years of rigorous academic research, validated through over 1,500 field tests conducted with beekeepers and a multidisciplinary team of researchers across Europe and the United States. With its woman-led team of engineers and PhDs from five nationalities, Oligofeed aims to expand its product application to other animal species, essential for a sustainable food supply. The company pursues its long-term vision of becoming a global leader in functional food ingredients for animals.
