Objective
Europe stands at a critical juncture in the global quantum computing race. As international tech giants invest billions in quantum research, the EU risks falling behind, potentially compromising its technological sovereignty and economic competitiveness. This situation demands an urgent and innovative European response.eleQtron presents a breakthrough solution: MAGIC (MAgnetic Gradient Induced Coupling) quantum computing technology. Unlike conventional approaches, MAGIC uses microwave fields to control trapped-ion qubits, offering unprecedented scalability and performance. This innovation overcomes key limitations of current quantum computers, providing a clear path to fault-tolerant, large-scale quantum systems. Our technology demonstrates world-record low crosstalk between qubits, high single- and two-qubit gate fidelities, and exceptional coherence times (up to 10 seconds), far surpassing competitors. Our unique architecture enables all-to-all qubit connectivity and operates at higher temperatures than superconducting systems, dramatically reducing infrastructure costs and complexity. Our solution has the potential to revolutionize industries crucial to Europe's future, from drug discovery and material science to financial modeling and climate change mitigation. Through this project, we will complete development of our scalable, on-chip trapped-ion processor, attract additional private investment, and ensure our strategically vital technology remains anchored in Europe.
