Objective

Built on 8+ years of research at University of Cambridge and 3+ years of technology development, FLOW-AI brings a human-centric, resilient, and compliant solution to the global need for the social, digital and sustainable industrial transformation. The project aims to empower factory workers with AI-enabled training and provide factory forecast capabilities. The key objective is to finalise the development of the FLOW-AI platform, a Gen-AI-powered microlearning tool tailored to industrial needs. For factory workers, it provides personalised, intelligent training, unlocking opportunities for lifelong learning. The second objective is to reach TLR 8/9 by piloting the FLOW-AI platform in 15+ factories of European manufacturers by the end of the project.Once launched, the platform will establish the missing layer of the industrial metaverse: augmentation technology (AT). AT provides factory managers with data-driven forecasts on factory efficiency and areas of potential improvement for each facility. This significantly boosts decision-making across the industry and simultaneously protects workers’ personal data, contributing to Europe’s industrial transition. Both the platform and the foundational Gen-AI model are developed in full compliance with EU regulations on data security, transparency and ethical AI, overcoming current issues related to non-EU-based AI solutions. This project directly contributes to the objectives of the EIC Accelerator's ""Human-Centric Generative AI made in Europe"" challenge by addressing the need for human-centric AI technologies. Moreover, it aligns with the broader EU goals of fostering innovation in strategic areas, boosting Europe's industrial competitiveness, and supporting the social, digital and green transition. The project’s focus on empowering European factory workers with innovative AI tools strongly supports the EU’s efforts to enhance workforce skills, improve working conditions and reduce economic inequalities across industries.""
