Objective
Catalysts are fundamental for almost all industry products as they accelerate and control the selectivity of chemical reactions. As such, they play a crucial role in mitigating the climate crisis to transition away from fossil fuels by utilizing CO2 in electrochemical reactions to synthetize carbon neutral end products. However, catalyst innovation is lacking. It takes about 20 years to discover a new catalyst with multi-million euros R&D expenses. To enable a carbon neutral industry in the near future, Dunia is revolutionizing electrocatalyst discovery with its autonomous, artificial-intelligence- and robotic- driven laboratory. This breakthrough technology significantly accelerates the discovery process, reducing timeframes by up to 90% and cutting costs by at least 60-70% compared to conventional methods, while building the largest and most reliable database for future electrocatalyst research. As a result, Dunia is able to find high-performance catalysts that can utilize captured CO2 in the production of value-added chemicals and green fuels.
