Objective
Energy-efficient building renovations are crucial for reducing the operational carbon emissions of EU building stock, thereby aligning with the EU’s Renovation Wave strategy and carbon-neutrality goal. Accurate, comprehensive and up-to-date data on the buildings’ structural and thermal aspects are required for effective energy-efficient renovation planning, which do not exist for most of the EU buildings. Further, existing methods to collect such data are laborious, slow, and prone to human error, especially for large buildings, discouraging building owners and industry professionals from pursuing immediate improvements. We have developed a patented easy-to-use handheld measurement device and proprietaryalgorithm to automatically digitise buildings’ interiors in record time. With the EIC we can accelerate the commercialisation of our enabling technology for industry professionals expediting buildings’ renovation process, while significantly contributing to the EU Renovation wave.
