Sensofusion Oy: Strategic Analysis of C-UAS and European Air Defense

Sensofusion Oy is a Finnish deep‐tech company specializing in advanced counter‐drone (“C‐UAS”) solutions. Its flagship product, Airfence, is a passive multi‐sensor drone detection and defeat system combining radio‐frequency analysis, machine‐learning algorithms and electronic countermeasures [1] [2] . Founded in 2016 and headquartered in Vantaa, Finland, Sensofusion has rapidly positioned itself as a sovereign European supplier of anti‐drone technology. Its capabilities address an urgent gap in Europe’s air‐and‐missile defense architecture by protecting military bases, airports and critical infrastructure against unmanned aerial threats [3] [4] . In essence, Sensofusion’s systems give EU armed forces and security agencies an indigenous way to detect, track and disrupt hostile drones in real time. This enhances deterrence by denying adversaries safe use of unmanned systems, and strengthens Europe’s technological autonomy by reducing reliance on non‐allied anti‐drone solutions. Sensofusion has already demonstrated interoperability with NATO and U.S. forces – supplying Airfence detectors to Finnish troops and integrating with U.S. Marine Corps and NATO experiments [5] [6] – while retaining its technology development and manufacturing base in Europe.
