Cerbair: European Counter-Drone Systems for Defense and Security

Company Overview: Cerbair is a private French deep-tech scale-up founded in 2015 (Montrouge, France) [2] that provides counter-Unmanned Aerial System (C-UAS) solutions. It began as a startup in the dual-use security sector and has since matured into a recognized European anti-drone specialist, with backing from defense industry investors (including MBDA) [3] . Cerbair’s core products – the HYDRA RF drone detector, MEDUSA RF jammer, and CHIMERA integrated portable C-UAS kit – align with Europe’s Emerging and Disruptive Technology priorities in Sensor Technologies & Electronic Warfare and autonomous systems. Strategic Autonomy & NATO Alignment: Cerbair’s technology directly addresses Europe’s dependence on non-allied suppliers by offering a sovereign alternative to foreign anti-drone systems. Its RF-based drone detection and jamming solutions are entirely developed in France [4] , even decoding DJI drone signals without relying on Chinese systems. By integrating into French defense programs (e.g. DGA’s PARADE counter-drone system [5] ) and EU projects (EDIDP JEY-CUAS consortium [6] ), Cerbair contributes to a European interoperable C-UAS capability.
