About this report

Verkor SAS is a French deep-tech scale-up founded in 2020 that produces high-performance lithium-ion battery cells for electric vehicles and energy storage. It has rapidly moved from laboratory innovation to industrial production, inaugurating a gigafactory in Dunkirk (Bourbourg) with a 16 GWh/year capacity (rising to 50 GWh by 2030) .

Verkor’s mission is to build a “sovereign and sustainable European battery industry” that can replace Asian imports . Its proprietary cell and module designs – in cylindrical and pouch formats – emphasize energy density, fast charging and safety . This positions Verkor at the intersection of Europe’s green transition and defense resilience.
