About this report
CNIM (Compagnie Industrielle de Matériaux) is a longstanding French industrial engineering group founded in 1856 . For over a century and a half it has produced high-technology equipment spanning energy, environmental, and defense markets . In defense specifically CNIM developed unique capabilities such as fast amphibious landing craft and heavy bridging systems, as well as lighter-than-air surveillance platforms.
With a workforce of about 2,800 at its peak , CNIM’s global reach included major contracts with national armies and navies. However, recent financial distress has disrupted operations: in late 2022 the company entered liquidation and was delisted from the Paris stock exchange .
