Objective
Octave’s product consists of a second-life battery energy storage system equipped with Octave’s cutting-edge battery and energy management technology. The novel technology relies on a deep integration of the battery management system and the energy management system. It makes the raw battery cell measurements available for optimisation of the battery system’s charging strategy. The data are sent to Octave’s battery cloud, where it is used in advanced machine learning methods and digital twins of the cells are created to extract useful insights. This innovative technology opens up a range of improvements in the operation of the system such as optimal control, extended lifetime, improved monitoring and enables predictive maintenance. It is particularly useful for second-life battery storage. The goal of this project is to bring Octave’s product to the market by lifting the technological readiness from TRL 5 to 8 and prepare the go to market via the blended finance modality.
