Objective
AMPLIFY strengthens Europe’s disaster preparedness and resilience by connecting citizens, authorities, civil society, first responders and creative practitioners to co-create inclusive, context-specific risk communication solutions that move beyond awareness to action. Through a network of four transdisciplinary Creative Hubs – city, regional and pan-European – AMPLIFY bridges scientific knowledge with artistic and cultural practices such as storytelling, theatre, music and digital arts to make disaster risks tangible, relevant, emotive and actionable for all, particularly vulnerable and underrepresented groups.AMPLIFY builds on proven transdisciplinary approaches including knowledge co-production in Real World Labs (DIRECTED), inclusive preparedness (CORE), artistic co-creation (STARTS) and tool co-development (PARATUS). It applies participatory evaluation and an evidence-based, AI-supported reflection tool (Reflect2AMPLIFY) to capture and share learning. Training and capacity building with youth networks, authorities, first responders and EU networks embed creative methods into institutional practice, establishing sustainable Preparedness Pathways for organisational learning and systems change.By integrating social sciences, humanities, arts, and technology into disaster risk governance, AMPLIFY advances the EU’s Preparedness Union Strategy, contributing directly to Disaster Resilience Goal 2 – Prepare. The consortium unites partners from Ireland, the Netherlands, Italy, Greece, and pan-European youth camp networks, supported by learning exchanges with Ukraine, Estonia, and Serbia. Expected outcomes include a transferable Creative Hub methodology, co-created risk communication solutions, the Y-Prepare learning platform, Reflect2AMPLIFY AI-tool, and an open-access AMPLIFY Toolkit. Together, these strengthen citizen–authority collaboration and amplify whole-of-society disaster preparedness through targeted, emotive, and inclusive risk communication.
