Objective

Twenty million people worldwide live with spinal cord injuries. Among them, 40% have cervical injuries, and almost half of those have complete injuries, leaving them unable to move their hands, with no hope of improvement through physiotherapy. They become permanently dependent on others. Not only is this a tragedy for these patients, and their families, but it also imposes a considerable burden on society due to dependency.Current and developing neurostimulation solutions do not enable the recovery of fine hand movements such as grasping, necessary for daily activities in these patients.With 20 years of fundamental research and industrial development behind us, we have designed the only neuroprosthesis capable of selectively and synergistically stimulating the right nerve fibres - among hundreds of thousands - responsible for finger and wrist movements. Designed with a patient-oriented approach, NeuriGrasp is fully implantable with a short 2-hour surgery, requires only 2 weeks of training, and is priced to be accessible to all patients. We have demonstrated the effectiveness of our device in preliminary clinical trials. Our objective is now to finalise industrialisation, conduct pivotal clinical trials and obtain CE marking in Europe and FDA approval in the USA. We are already in contact with several rehabilitation centres in Europe to launch the pivotal clinical trial. These centres will then be our first customers.We have chosen to develop our selective neural stimulation technology to restore hand movement, as this is the primary need expressed by patients with tetraplegia. However, with minimal modifications, our technology can also be used to treat many other conditions that lead to paralysis, such as stroke, among others.Our mission is to provide a solution for all patients whose nerves can be stimulated to restore or modulate impaired functions, whether related to autonomic or somatic system dysfunction
