Objective
The HAVEN project aims to demonstrate the next generation of Air Traffic Services (ATS) platform for EN-ROUTE and Terminal Manoeuvring Area (TMA) operations. It involves key industry partners and major European Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs), addressing several topics including Artificial Intelligence, open architecture, flexible deployment, and Air Traffic Management (ATM) in the cloud. The project supports concepts like trajectory-based operations, demand capacity balancing, and environmentally friendly operations. It will also consider safety, cyber-security, standardisation, and certification with EASA support. The project is organized into two technological solutions:TS-1 “ATS platform support to advanced operational concepts in EN-ROUTE and TMA” focuses on supporting the operational concepts defined for EN-ROUTE and TMA. These will be defined in other WAs of the SESAR3 IR2 call, such as TBO, DCB, Civil/Military coordination etc. This solution will cover the way that the platform supports these different concepts and they will be prototyped and validated through real time simulations, with human in the loop (with ATC controllers involved).TS-2 “Next generation architecture and deployment architecture for ATS platform” is more technical and linked to the architecture, infrastructure and deployment patterns and intends to cover the impacts of the new service delivery model in the architecture.Transition aspects, as per the new service delivery model recommendation task force, will be studied to clarify how these services can be packaged to allow a smooth transition. Moreover, third parties services interchangability will be validated through a cross-project experimentation, and the benefit from the Cloud-ready platform, going one step further to implement different ways of deployment, taking advantage of the flexibility it offers, will be demonstrated.
